We are still limited to what we can do during this pandemic, there are still things you can try for the first time in the comfort of your own home. Especially when you are helping a local business at the same time. Here are some of the best local restaurants in Wicker Park area that offer delivery and pick up options.
These places, I've personally tried and I can back up how good these places are. So here we go...
Small Cheval
This place is the little brother of Au Cheval at Randolph and Halsted. This joint is well known for their high quality burgers, with a fraction of the waiting time compared with its big brother. Small Cheval basically has the same burger but with a different kind of bacon and the lack of the fried egg. The regular burger is served with 2 patties, pickles, garlic mayo, and bacon if you choose. Whats also a plus is that, If you do choose to pick up your food, there's a beverage store next to it, going south east. its called Garfield's Beverage Express. They Also do delivery as well on different delivery services like
Since Chicago is getting pretty chilly, it's a good idea to have some soup based dishes. If you've ever tried legit ramen that didn't come out of a packet or plastic container, this is the ramen spot to go. If you've never had ramen made from scratch, then you have to try this place out. I personally recommend the Musclemen Ramen if you want to be adventurous and/or like seafood. Its served with mussels, onion, chili pepper, scallions, and a bonito kind of miso. The other one I recommend is the oiimen classic. Now this is served with Berkshire pork belly, ground pork, scallions, tree ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and a soft boiled egg. The broth is made with Oiistar special blended miso paste.
If you have a craving for something doughy and cheesy, maybe with a hint of unconventional ingredients if you want, then you have to try this place. I was taken to this place with some friends before COVID, the inside is tastefully decorated and the layout is not bad... but lets get to the food. The pizza has a good amount of cheese and the crust has the right about of crunch to it where it doesn't mess up the roof of your mouth. I recommend the "Honey Boo Boo", "Margherita", "I Feel Like Bacon Love,"and if want something classic, then the "Sgt. Pepper" pizza is good too. I believe that was 80% of their pizza selection, that being said, you can't go wrong with any of them. If you have room for dessert, then try the 'TACOlato." it's a taco shaped waffle cone served with your choice of flavors and toppings.
Bonchon Division
Im sure most of us like, or love, wings. But have you tried Korean wings? If not, Then I suggest you get on it. There are multiple locations like chinatown, but the closest on is on Division. Of course I Suggest you try the signature fried chicken. You get to choose the flavor which is Spicy, Soy Garlic, or Half & Half. Their sides are pretty good as well, like their sliders. Its crispy chicken or marinated ribeye(Bulgogi if you know your Korean foods), coleslaw, red onion, cucumbers, spicy mayo, served on a mini potato bun.
Craving lobster? Crab? Shrimp? then this is the spot. It's got all the seafood you'll want. You get to choose what kind of sea dwellers you want by the half or full LB. Then choose what flavor you want, either the Lemon Pepper, Garlic Butter, Angry Cajun, or the Maniac which is all 3 combined. Lastly you choose what spice level you want to brave. Ive never had bad food from them, because they are consistent, and its pretty fresh. It's all cooked right, and not rubbery.
